Biography
A major figure on the international music scene, Sergej Krylov performs regularly in the leading concert halls of Europe, Asia and the Americas. Admired for his exceptional virtuosity, artistic freedom and profound musical insight, he has collaborated with distinguished conductors including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Fabio Luisi, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Vasily Petrenko and Ton Koopman.
Since 2008, he has served as Music Director of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, with which he regularly performs as both violinist and conductor. His discography includes numerous critically acclaimed recordings for Deutsche Grammophon and Sony Classical. Since 2012, he has been a professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano and is regularly invited to serve on the juries of major international competitions.
Born into a family of musicians, Sergej Krylov studied at Moscow’s Central Music School before continuing his training with Abram Stern and Salvatore Accardo. A prize winner of several prestigious international competitions, including the Rodolfo Lipizer, Fritz Kreisler and Antonio Stradivari Competitions, he has established himself as one of the leading violinists of his generation.
He performs on the 1710 Antonio Stradivari violin “Camposelice”, generously entrusted to him by the Sasakawa Music Foundation.
