Swiss pianist and violinist Manoush Ruken Toth is among the most exciting young musicians of her generation. A prizewinner of numerous international competitions, member of Trio Toth

and Switzerland’s representative at Eurovision Young Musicians 2026, she already performs on major stages and at leading festivals across Europe.

Biography

Born in La Palma in 2006, Manoush Ruken Toth began playing the violin at the age of two and the piano at the age of eight. She graduated with distinction from the Musikakademie Basel, where she studied with Claudio Martinez Mehner and Zoltán Fejérvári, and received the prize for the best Bachelor recital. Alongside her piano studies, she pursued violin studies with Barbara Doll, completed the “Conducting from the Piano” programme in Fiesole and is a scholarship holder of the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.

Her artistic development has been enriched by guidance from distinguished musicians including Leonidas Kavakos, Robert Levin, Martin Helmchen, Pavel Gililov, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Arie Vardi, Rena Shereshevskaya and Sir András Schiff.

She first gained international attention at the age of ten as winner of the Steinway Piano Competition and has since received numerous awards, including the Lions Club Köniz Culture Prize, the WDR3 Classical Music Prize, the Valiant Soloist Competition, the Beecham Competition and the Orbetello International Piano Competition. In 2024 she was invited to serve as a junior juror at the Géza Anda Competition and, in 2026, represents Switzerland at Eurovision Young Musicians in Yerevan.

As both a soloist and chamber musician, she performs regularly with Trio Toth alongside her brother Anatol and sister Anouk. Her concert appearances have taken her to festivals such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Chios Music Festival, Gstaad Baroque Academy, Arosa Classical Music Festival, Mantua Chamber Music Festival and Murten Classics, as well as to prestigious venues including Zurich Tonhalle, Semperoper Dresden and Teatro Castro Alves in Brazil.

She has already appeared with orchestras including Kammerorchester Basel, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, Erzgebirgische Philharmonie, Stadtorchester Solothurn and the Hradec Králové Philharmonic. Her artistic activity today spans piano, violin, chamber music and orchestral projects.
