Swiss actor, stage director and narrator Robert Bouvier has built an international career spanning theatre, opera, film and music.
Founder of the Compagnie du Passage, he was awarded the title of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.
Biography
Robert Bouvier is a Swiss actor and stage director trained at Université Paris III – Sorbonne Nouvelle and the National Theatre School of Strasbourg.
His career has taken him to stages across Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Quebec and Japan. In 2003, he founded the Compagnie du Passage, through which he has developed numerous theatrical, musical and interdisciplinary projects.
As a stage director, he has created acclaimed opera and theatre productions including Don Giovanni, Faust, Aida, Tosca and The Damnation of Faust, presented both in Switzerland and internationally.
Alongside his work in theatre and opera, Robert Bouvier has appeared in numerous film and television productions. Deeply committed to the dialogue between literature and music, he is frequently invited as a narrator in symphonic concerts and chamber music projects.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to cultural life, he was appointed Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.
