Encouraged from an early age by Grigory Sokolov, she is today considered one of the most remarkable figures of the new generation of pianists.
Biography
A prize winner of several international competitions, Alexandra Dovgan first attracted worldwide attention at the age of ten when she won the Grand Prix of the Grand Piano Competition in Moscow. Broadcast internationally, her performances immediately drew the admiration of audiences and leading figures of the musical world.
Since her acclaimed debut at the Salzburg Festival, she has pursued an international career that has brought her to some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus Vienna, Zurich Tonhalle, Victoria Hall Geneva, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Palau de la Música Barcelona and Teatro Colón Buenos Aires.
She has collaborated with some of the most distinguished conductors and ensembles on the international scene, including Gustavo Dudamel and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Paavo Järvi, Trevor Pinnock, Ton Koopman, Kazushi Ono and Kazuki Yamada.
In 2024, she received the prestigious Prix Serdang, awarded by Rudolf Buchbinder and Adrian Flury in recognition of her already exceptional artistic achievements.
Born in 2007 into a family of musicians, Alexandra Dovgan began playing the piano at the age of four and a half. She was admitted at an early age to the Central Music School of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with Mira Marchenko. She currently continues her studies at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris in the class of Rena Shereshevskaya.
