RICARDO CASERO
Conductor
Ricardo Casero is a Spanish conductor of international standing and Musical and Artistic Director of the Orquesta Reino de Aragón in Zaragoza. Born in Valencia, he graduated with highest honours from leading musical institutions in Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom. He is a Fulbright Scholar and laureate of international competitions in Sweden, Germany and Italy.
He has built a wide-ranging international career and is regularly invited as a guest conductor throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. Casero appears on major operatic and symphonic stages, including the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Halle aux Grains in Toulouse, as well as leading concert venues across China. His interpretations are distinguished by structural clarity, refined musical intelligence and a strong sense of style.
Biography
Ricardo Casero began his conducting career at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, where he worked as an assistant conductor and collaborated closely with such eminent maestros as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Chailly and Valery Gergiev. This formative period played a decisive role in shaping his artistic vision and professional approach.
Alongside his conducting career, Casero maintains an active and influential pedagogical profile. He has held professorships at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco (Musikene) and the Conservatorio Superior de Música of the Balearic Islands. He is currently Director of the Master’s Degree in Performance, Orchestral Conducting and Pedagogy at the University of Valencia.
He is regularly invited to teach at leading international institutions, including the Juilliard School in New York, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Casero is also the founder and artistic leader of major educational initiatives such as the Master Symphony Orchestra in Valencia and the JOGVPLUS programme for the Generalitat Valenciana, dedicated to the professional development of young musicians.
