Biography
A graduate of the Kharkiv I. Kotlyarevsky University of Arts under the tutelage of Professor Lyudmyla Tsurkan, she began her professional journey at the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Since 2005, she has been a leading soloist at the National Opera of Ukraine, where she embodies the most significant roles in the operatic repertoire.
A specialist in the Verdian repertoire and Italian verismo, she lends her voice to the most complex heroines of Giuseppe Verdi: from the nobility of Elisabeth in Don Carlos to the fierce determination of Abigaille in Nabucco, as well as her masterful interpretation of the Requiem.
Her versatility extends to bel canto, notably in the title role of Bellini’s Norma, and to the masterpieces of Puccini (Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot). She also brings deep sensitivity to the Slavic repertoire, portraying characters such as Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Lisa (The Queen of Spades), and Yaroslavna (Prince Igor) with great emotional depth.
As a guest artist on the world’s major stages—from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to Canada and Japan—she proudly represents the Ukrainian school of singing. A particular highlight was her participation in the prestigious 2018 project “Le Vie dell’Amicizia” (The Paths of Friendship) under the baton of Maestro Riccardo Muti, performing at the Ravenna Festival in a spirit of unity and cultural brotherhood.
Today, Oksana Kramareva continues to enchant international audiences with the purity of her timbre and the depth of her interpretations, standing as an essential and distinguished ambassador of the operatic arts.
