Roman Fediurko is one of the most compelling young Ukrainian pianists of his generation, noted for his depth of interpretation, refined sound, and exceptional artistic maturity. A first-prize winner at the International Robert Schumann Competition (Düsseldorf) and the Vladimir Horowitz Competition (Kyiv–Geneva).
He performs extensively across Europe and Asia, with recent highlights including Salle Cortot (Paris), Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Konzerthaus Wien, and his Elbphilharmonie Hamburg debut within the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts. His 2023 album Kaleidoscope (ARS Produktion), recorded with his brother Oleksandr, further established him as an emerging voice of distinction.
Biography
Born in Kyiv, Roman began piano studies at the age of five with Halyna Kotsiuba, who shaped the foundations of his artistic identity. He continues his professional development with Milana Chernyavska at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, and is a scholarship recipient of New Names of Ukraine and the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, regularly taking part in its intensive programs.
Roman’s early career is marked by victories at major international competitions. He is a first-prize winner of the International Robert Schumann Competition in Düsseldorf and the Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition Kyiv Geneva, and a laureate of the Peter Topercer Competition (Slovakia), the Grotrian Steinweg Competition (Germany) and Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte (Czech Republic). These achievements, combined with his expanding concert activity, have established him as one of the most promising Ukrainian pianists of his generation.
He has performed in France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Romania and South Korea. Recent highlights include debuts at Salle Cortot in Paris, Beethoven Haus Bonn, Konzerthaus Wien, the DMZ Open Festival, as well as his appearance at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg in the Steinway Prizewinner Concerts series.
In 2023 he released the album Kaleidoscope (ARS Produktion), recorded with his younger brother Oleksandr.
